What is Yandex Webmaster Tools?
Yandex is a popular search engine in Russia and its Webmaster Tools is a free site where you can see how your content is listed in their search results.
You don’t have to use Yandex Webmaster Tools to be listed in search results, but it really helps you see problems before they impact your ranking.
NOTE:
If you’ve already verified your site with Yandex Webmaster Tools then you don’t need to do it again. You only need to verify your site once when you first add it in Yandex Webmaster Tools.
Adding your Site to Yandex Webmaster Tools
To get started, you’ll need to sign into Yandex Webmaster Tools.
If you don’t have an account, you can either register for one, or you can use your Facebook, Google or Twitter account to log in.
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll see a My sites page. Click on the Add site button.
Enter the full URL for your site in the box and click the Add button.
IMPORTANT:
The URL you enter must exactly match the URL for your site. This includes https:// or not and www or not.
Verifying Ownership of Your Site
Next, you’ll see a screen that says Verify rights to, and you’ll see some code here. Select the code with your mouse, right click on the selected text and choose Copy.
Open a new browser window and log into your WordPress site. Click on General Settings in the All in One SEO menu and then click on the Webmaster Tools tab.
Now click on the Yandex Webmaster Tools block and paste the code you copied into the Yandex Verification Code field and click Save Changes.
Now all that’s left is to go back to Yandex Webmaster Tools in your other browser window and click the Check button.
Congratulations! You’ve verified your site with Yandex Webmaster Tools!
